I painted this while waiting at the hospital. There were people with all kinds of symptoms, and I felt how many kinds of suffering there are. That suffering takes so many forms that we can never fully understand each other's, and yet we were all sitting side by side in the same place. I wanted to capture something like the warmth in that.
