About the Artist
Abstract painter Mai_M / VTuber Mogami Mai
Abstract artist and video editor. Mai has been making digital art since 2019.
Mai paints the colors and shapes felt in the heart — joy, anger, sorrow and delight — so that people who encounter the work feel stirred or soothed. That is what the work is for. Dark works are painted alongside bright ones, because in some situations it is the darker work that heals.
As the VTuber “Mogami Mai,” Mai streams live drawing and casual chats and posts short videos, all at an easygoing pace. Mai's hobby is tarot reading.

Mai_M Art Project
Active since April 2023. Mai paints, and Hiro (a certified care worker) is the representative who takes care of everything else in the business, including running this website.
Our theme is “Painting the heart, and painting it into yours” (心を描く、心に描く).
We actively share our work outside Japan too, hoping to reach as many people around the world as we can. Reaching many people takes funding, so our works are priced accordingly.
Mai_M Art Project officially launched as a business on May 7, 2025, and is registered as a qualified invoice issuer under Japan's invoice system.
Hiro also runs Soyogi, a nonprofit consultation service for care and support (in Japanese).

Three Goals
Mai was a nursery teacher and Hiro a certified care worker, but both became disabled and could no longer work in childcare or welfare. Once the income from the artwork alone can support their lives, they have three big goals.
- To donate to and support the next generation — infant homes, children's homes, children's hospitals and more. This goal comes from the help these places gave Mai on the way to becoming a nursery teacher, and from being a nursery teacher itself.
- To donate to causes for people with visual impairments, especially the training of guide dogs and a good life for them in retirement. This goal comes from Mai having been severely nearsighted since birth, and having been told by a doctor to expect blindness around the age of 50.
- To buy and donate an ambulance. This goal comes from Mai being rushed to the hospital after an epileptic seizure — an experience that showed how vital ambulances are, and that there are not enough of them.
We work toward these goals every day. If our work resonates with you, we'd be grateful for your support.
