I painted, as freely as I liked, billowing thunderheads rising into a dazzlingly clear sky, along with the static electricity inside them. I made it in winter, but I'd heard that in regions with heavy snowfall, thunder can rumble even while it's snowing. That overturned my belief that thunder belongs to summer, and made me think there may be thunderclouds even in winter.
