This piece is themed around brain fog and messengers. In Japanese, the names of the brain's lobes use the character for "leaf." I got curious about why and looked it up, and one theory is that the word for rounded, earlobe-like bulges was translated as "leaf" — I found that fascinating. If the brain is made of leaves, then information is inscribed on those leaves; our thoughts are carved into them and carried on to someone else. That idea is where the title "The Adventure of the Postcard" came from — the Japanese word for postcard, hagaki, is written with that same character for "leaf."

Translated from the artist's original Japanese caption (view in Japanese).
