I painted this thinking back to the pattern on the yukata (a light summer kimono) I wore to festivals as a child. My favorite yukata and geta (wooden sandals) were cute, but a little hard to move around in, and I still remember the smell of the bug spray put on me before we headed out. Painting it has me looking forward to this year's summer festivals, too.
