Light spreads outward like ripples. I made the most of the brushstrokes to keep it dynamic, while keeping the lines simple so the ripples stand out. As I painted, I kept thinking how lovely this would look as a pattern on a yukata (a light summer kimono) or a kinchaku drawstring pouch.
